We know that in this high-speed, instant delivery culture, customers are used to getting stuff fast. It’s a bit of a shock to our customers when we tell them that our scones require a lead time of 24 hours.
Why? Why does it take so long to get some scones?
The short answer is that Scoffle Me is a passion project - not a full time job. Neither James nor I want to operate a full-scale bakery, we just want to share our scones. We believe that scones are
Scoffle Me scones, aren’t just any scones. To date, James has hand-shaped and baked off 17,000 scones. It’s how we ensure every scone is Scoffle Me quality scones.
Together we have packed every single one of them ourselves. You see, Scoffle Me is run and operated by one husband and wife team - me and James.
not our full time job and Scoffle Me is run and operated in every respect by a husband and wife team — me and James. There is no staff to help respond to messages, print sticker labels, arrange for delivery or even clean the baking equipment.
Hiya, Nat here to talk about why it takes a little time to get our delicious scones, each and every one hand shaped and baked off by our head baker and Scoffle In Chief, James.
Scoffle Me is a passion project, a little something that we do extra in order to fulfill one of our life philosophies, which is that everyone should try to do something to bring joy to the world in whatever way they can.
This is our way. But because it’s not our full time jobs, and we receive your orders while out about in the city, we can never guarantee same day delivery, but we can almost always make sure you get your order the next day.
We operate Scoffle Me out of a dedicated baking kitchen that is located on our home property.
